Race to Main and Fayettechille

The concept of bringing the Blueway, Greenway, and Downtown together at a First Saturday event is an excellent initiative to promote community engagement, local business, and environmental awareness. 

Goals:

• Increase awareness and usage of the Blueway and Greenway.
• Boost local businesses and tourism in Downtown.
• Foster community spirit and environmental stewardship.

Join Us for a Day of Adventure on the Elk River and downtown Fayetteville, Tennessee!

Gather your friends and prepare for an exciting day on the water and downtown with our newest event! Whether you're eager to test your paddling prowess in the 7-mile competitive "Race to Main" or prefer a relaxed journey with the "Fayettechille Fun Float," there's something for everyone.

Event Details:

Race Start Time: 8:00 AM (with staggered starts by category)

Fun Float Start Time: 9:00 AM

Location:

• Drop-In: Frito Lay on Chenault Ford Road
• Race Finish: Stonebridge Park
• Greenway to Awards & Lunch: Fayetteville Square

What to Expect:

• Competitive Race: Challenge yourself in our 7-mile race with flights beginning at 8:00 AM.
• Fayettechille Fun Float: Enjoy a leisurely float starting at 9:00 AM.
• Awards & Free Lunch: Head to the Fayetteville Square after your adventure for an awards ceremony and complimentary lunch at First Saturday.

Prizes:

• Categories: Single Kayak, Kayak Team (2 persons), Single Canoe, Canoe Team (2 persons)
• Award: $200 to the winner of each category

Participant Perks:

• A unisex short sleeve t-shirt for all race participants
• Note: You must bring or rent your own kayak. Coast Guard-approved PFDs are required and must be worn or accessible at all times.

Important Information:

• Pre-race Check-In: July 6th, 7:00 AM to 7:30 AM at the Frito Lay drop-in
• Cancellation Policy: The race will be canceled (without rescheduling) if conditions are deemed too hazardous. Entry fees are non-refundable.
