Meet the Members: Teresa (Mama T) & Tracy Simmons (Tracio) of 2 Hicks with Sticks
What began as two friends barbecuing for fun has turned into one of Fayetteville’s favorite catering teams. Tracy and his best friend, Craig, launched 2 Hicks with Sticks as a competition barbecue team, traveling across Alabama, Georgia, and Tennessee. After Craig passed away, Tracy took the business full-time — and he and Teresa have been carrying on the passion ever since.
Fun Fact
Married since March 20, 1998, Teresa jokes that she deserves an award for putting up with Tracy’s antics for more than 27 years. Their teamwork, both in life and business, has been the secret ingredient behind their success.
What They Love Most
“The people,” they say without hesitation. “We literally started cooking under a blue tarp hanging in the trees, and the people have been so good to support us and grow our business.” Their story is one of community spirit, hard work, and faith in good food bringing people together.

Pulled pork is always a hit, but when they’re set up at the Lincoln County Fairgrounds, it’s the brisket tacos that steal the show. This year alone, 2 Hicks with Sticks served more than 2,500 tickets at the fair — a true testament to their popularity and quality.
Why They Joined Main Street
Tracy and Teresa joined Main Street Fayetteville to help promote the community and everything happening downtown. “The enthusiasm of all the members and board of directors is contagious,” they said. “We just want to be part of it.”
