Faulkner Named Fayetteville Main Street President

Last Updated 2/19/2024

Fayetteville Main Street is excited to announce the appointment of its 2024 Board of Directors Leadership. Joseph Faulkner will serve as the President of the board for 2024. Heather McCormick will serve as Vice-President, Susan Bassham as secretary and Debbie Sowder as Treasurer.

“Our downtown is the heart of our community; it's where generations gather together, where we celebrate what makes us unique, and where we foster entrepreneurs to showcase their creativity.” Faulkner said. “Fayetteville Main Street has been a committed driver of progress in our downtown. I am excited to lead this organization through 2024, working to expand the progress that has been made over the past couple of years. My priorities this year are to ensure we carry out our strategic plan based on the four-point Main Street approach of promotion, design, economic vitality, and organization; create more "third places" that build community; offer resources to current businesses to ensure longevity, and ensure we are fostering a pro-business ecosystem in Fayetteville that entices businesses that our citizens want. Through Main Street, I hope to ensure Fayetteville becomes a place where you want to raise a family and start a business. I hope to lead this organization with awareness of our historic past and optimism for the future."

The nationally-accredited Fayetteville Main Street program has been an active and vital part of the community since 1990. Main Street revitalization is a comprehensive, incremental, self-help economic strategy that focuses on developing public-private partnerships in order to enhance community livability and job creation while maintaining the historic character of the district.
