The Main Support - 3 Tips to Strengthen Your Small Business This Week - August 27th

Last Updated 8/27/2025

Running a small business means wearing many hats, and sometimes it’s easy to get caught up in the day-to-day. Each week, we’ll share quick tips to help you grow your business and strengthen your connection with customers. Here are three ways to sharpen your strategy this week:

1. Perfect Your Elevator Pitch

Can you clearly explain what your business offers in 30 seconds or less? Being able to quickly articulate your value makes a big difference when meeting new customers or potential partners. Once you’ve nailed your pitch, don’t let it sit in your back pocket—turn it into a social media post, add it to your website’s “About” section, or even include it in your email signature.

2. Sell Yourself, Not Just the Product

Customers often choose small businesses because of the people behind them. Share your story, your passion, and the “why” behind what you do. Building real connections can inspire loyalty and make customers want to support you—not just once, but again and again.

3. Get Creative with Trade Partnerships

Money isn’t the only way to grow your business. Consider trading goods or services with other businesses or community partners. A creative exchange can give you lasting exposure and open doors to valuable relationships. For example, a local café might trade catering for free advertising space, or a boutique might style outfits for a photographer in exchange for professional photos.
