Meet the Member: Leslie Price, President of the Humane Society of Lincoln County

Last Updated 12/3/2025Posted in Business Spotlight

Leslie Price leads the Humane Society of Lincoln County with a deep compassion for animals and a commitment to protecting some of the most vulnerable members of our community. As a nonprofit, non-funded organization, the Humane Society works tirelessly to rescue, rehabilitate, and rehome unwanted, neglected, and lost animals throughout the county.

Beyond rescue efforts, the Humane Society provides critical support to local families. When pet owners experience a difficult month, Leslie and her team supply pet food to help keep animals in their homes rather than surrendered out of necessity. They also assist with urgent veterinary care, help capture traumatized or injured animals, and work hard to match each adoptable pet with the perfect home.

Leslie’s Favorite Part of the Work
For Leslie, the most meaningful moments are when an animal who has suffered finally realizes they are safe. She describes it as a powerful transformation—one that stays with you long after the moment has passed.

How to Give on Giving Tuesday
The Humane Society greatly appreciates community support, especially during times of high need. Donations that make the biggest difference include:

  • Kitten and puppy food (wet and dry)

  • Adult dog and cat food

  • Cat litter

  • Monetary donations for medical care, vaccines, and spay/neuter services

  • Foster families — always urgently needed

Fostering is one of the most impactful ways to support the Humane Society and is also a wonderful way for families to learn whether a long-term pet adoption is right for them.

Fun Fact About Leslie
She’s an avid adventurer — scuba diving, horseback riding, hiking, and staying active whenever she can. She also jokes that she has her own “zoo” at home.

The Humane Society of Lincoln County continues to make an incredible difference for animals and families across our community. Your Giving Tuesday support helps them keep pets safe, healthy, and loved.
