Cindy Hargis of Hair by Hair by Cindy Hargis @ Main Street Barber // Salon has built her career on passion, perseverance, and a genuine love for people. Her journey into the beauty industry is a testament to the idea that it’s never too late to pursue something new.

After spending many years as a stay-at-home mom raising her children, Cindy decided to take a leap of faith once they were grown. In her 40s, she enrolled in cosmetology school, graduating in 2015 and beginning what has now become nearly 11 years in the industry. What started as a new chapter has grown into a fulfilling career centered around helping others feel confident and cared for.

Cindy specializes in women’s haircuts and color, with a particular passion for creating styles that suit each individual. She takes pride in listening to her clients and making sure every person who sits in her chair leaves feeling their best. For Cindy, it’s not just about hair—it’s about connection, conversation, and building lasting relationships.

Originally from Mississippi, Cindy recently relocated to Fayetteville due to her husband’s job. Since arriving, she has quickly embraced the community and all it has to offer. She describes Fayetteville as welcoming, friendly, and full of life—especially around the downtown square. Being located at Main Street Barber/Salon allows her to stay connected to that energy and interact with both familiar faces and new clients every day.

Outside of the salon, Cindy enjoys reading and has a unique hobby that might surprise people—she loves painting walls. From detailed trim work to full room transformations, she finds the process relaxing and rewarding.

Cindy joined Fayetteville Main Street to become more involved in the community and connect with other local businesses. As someone new to the area, she values the relationships and support that come from being part of a strong, engaged network.
