Meet the Member: Marsha Hale of Jack Daniel’s

Last Updated 3/24/2026Posted in Business Spotlight

Marsha Hale serves as the Executive Administrator for Jack Daniels and is also the President of the Moore County–Lynchburg Chamber of Commerce. With more than 40 years of experience connected to the distillery, Marsha’s relationship with Jack Daniel’s is deeply rooted. As she describes it, the distillery is more than a workplace—it is home.

For Marsha, what makes Jack Daniel’s truly special is the people. There is a shared pride among employees in the craftsmanship and tradition behind every bottle. That pride is something visitors often notice as well, whether they are touring the distillery or experiencing the brand for the first time. The sense of connection and care is a defining part of the Jack Daniel’s experience.

In addition to its production, Jack Daniel’s has a strong retail presence that continues to attract visitors from around the world. The store on the square offers a wide variety of items, including barrels, barrel heads, apparel, glassware, and specialty products like candy and barbecue sauce. These offerings allow guests to take a piece of the experience home with them.

Another key part of the Jack Daniel’s story is Miss Bobo’s Boarding House, a long-standing dining tradition in Lynchburg. Marsha has a personal connection to Miss Bobo’s, having worked there as a teenager and even interacting with Miss Bobo herself. Today, the boarding house remains a beloved destination, known for its Southern hospitality and classic meals like fried chicken, chicken and pastry, and homemade desserts. Under the leadership of Chef Chris Dickey, the tradition continues with a deep connection to the Jack Daniel’s legacy.

Although Marsha has spent much of her life in Lynchburg, her roots in Fayetteville remain strong. A native of Fayetteville, she maintains a deep connection to the community and its people. Joining Fayetteville Main Street was a natural step, allowing her to stay involved and help strengthen the relationship between the two communities. Through support of local events like the Slawburger Festival and continued collaboration, Marsha is proud to ensure Jack Daniel’s remains an active part of Fayetteville’s growth and success.

Marsha Hale’s story reflects a lifetime of dedication, community connection, and pride in a brand that is recognized around the world, yet still deeply rooted in the people and places it calls home.
